About Me

In 2019 I began my 18th year of public school teaching in complete and total burnout.  I loved working with the kids, but the special education and larger educational systems were failing my students.  I was so, so tired in my soul and having panic attacks in the bathroom at work. I knew I needed to leave teaching, but I felt at a loss about what direction to take next.

I was fortunate to meet a somatic practitioner at this time, and I began working with her.  Building up my connection with my body through mindfulness and somatic exercises transformed my life and helped me heal in so many ways.

After feeling for myself how impactful somatic work is, I spent two years going on a deep dive learning about trauma and the nervous system.  I leaned on my B.A. in Psychology, and enrolled in a Clinical Mental Health program at my local college - I'm 2/3 of the way finished with my degree and my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license and about to begin my internship in the spring.    I also enrolled in and completed an intensive two year somatic therapy training program in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy.

Three years ago I had trouble leaving the house - I was so anxious and isolated.  Today, my life is incredibly rich and full of things that bring me joy.  It is my deepest desire to support your journey towards embodiment and a connected, joyful life as well.
